CUTTACK: The Orissa High Court has given notice to the state government on a PIL testing the takeover of Optional Board Secondary School (SBHS), a model school set up by the Leading body of Auxiliary Training (BSE) in Cuttack in 1959.

The school was laid out by BSE as an exhibit and exploratory school under the Orissa Optional Instruction Act, 1953. The School and Mass Training (SME) office had passed a goal for taking over SBHS on December 7, 2023. In like manner, the organization was taken over on January 1, 2024.

A previous understudy of SBHS Sujogya Kumar Samantaray had documented a PIL on January 2 trying to suppress the goal on the ground that it was in repudiation of the rule and past the express government’s position.

“Tragically, the public authority which is expected under regulation to guarantee execution of the arrangements of Orissa Optional Instruction Act, 1953 has assumed control over the main school of the Board, accordingly usurping upon the elements of the Board as ordered under segment 11 (k) of the Demonstration; despite the fact that the Demonstration doesn’t engage the public authority to assume control over the school of the Board,” the PIL fought.

The candidate further communicated dread about the viability of schooling in the SBHS after takeover by government because of double organization by both Board and government when the Board and its workers are represented by a different arrangement of rules outlined under Orissa Optional Training Act, 1953.
