Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a sharp verbal attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, criminating the party of shielding its leader Sheikh Shahjahan, who was lately arrested on charges of sexual assault and land heist in the Sandeshkhali area of the state.
Addressing a public rally in Hugli’s Arambag quarter, PM Modi took end at the Trinamool and questioned the silence of the opposition parties in the state on this issue.
The high minister’s visit to Bengal comes just days before the advertisement of the schedule for the pivotal Lok Sabha choices.

In his speech, PM Modi hit out at the TMC, saying that they’ve tried to cover up Shahjahan’s crimes and prevent him from facing justice.
He also questioned why the TMC and other opposition parties have remained silent on this matter.
His attack on the TMC comes just five days after a platoon from the Enforcement Directorate( ED) was attacked by a mob while raiding Shahjahan’s parcels in connection with a plutocrat laundering case.
The TMC has explosively refuted these allegations made by PM Modi, calling them” dispensable provocations”. They’ve indicted the BJP of trying to communalize the situation and divide people along religious lines for their own political gain.
They also claimed that the state government had taken action against all individuals responsible for crimes, anyhow of their religion.
